Children's University
We are extremely proud to be a Rotherham’s Children’s University partner school. Children’s University (CU) is a charity that works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children. It encourages and celebrates participation in extra-curricular activities, both in and outside of school, by awarding children with CU credits. One credit is awarded for each hour of extra learning, and children build up these credits to gain awards and certificates.
When a child has achieved 30 credits (30 hours of extra learning), they receive a Bronze award certificate, 65 credits= Silver and 100 credits=Gold.
As a school, we feel that participation in extra-curricular activities is not only fun, but also very important to a child’s developmental journey into a well-rounded young person. Taking part in these extra hours of learning has been shown to positively impact on attainment, increase a pupil’s positive identification with school, and build self-confidence and resilience. We therefore encourage, and fully support all of our pupils to take advantage of the Children’s University scheme, and collect as many credits as they can!
Please watch the video below of Mrs Crawford and some of our pupils discussing their involvement and enjoyment of Children's University.
